Wisdom Watch 2.0 is released
Today the new version of my simple little Wisdom Watch Apple Watch app is live on the App Store. You can read more about it on the Projects page, or go ahead and download it for free. This update brings the warning on screen that alerts users that the new, built-in 'flick to dismiss' gesture on watchOS 26 must be disabled to get a full uninterrupted experience of shaking the app to uncover the wisdom quotes. I had to push a similar update to the 8 Ball Watch app after demoing it to a friend and finding that every shake closed the app - typical demo chaos. The new version 2.0 also introduces some 40+ new Buddhist wisdom quotes that I hope people will find useful and less repetitive as they occassionally fire up the app in an effort to be more mindful.
Mindful Check-In 1.0 is released
I had forgotten to post a couple of weeks ago, but I am proud to say that Mindful Check-In is now also available on the App Store too for iPhone! This project started last September and got the shelf at a few stages around winter time but was picked up, finished and now distributed on account of getting a new Mac in late January 2026. I am already planning and working on the next updates, namely a FaceID / biometric lock to protect user data and am debating whether to invest time in an Android version to reach more people... or a web version that would make it available freely to anyone and everyone! Alternatively, as developing for Apple platforms is such a joy with the love and care they put into their development tools and languages like Swift (it has genuinely been a blast), I was tempted to bring the Mindful Check-In experience to watchOS, tvOS and give proper versions to the Mac and iPad rather than the current emulated variants that come by default from using Swift.
